Eliza Lucas Pickney =~]
Eliza Lucas Pickney helped me better understand SC history because it told me about everyday life in the 1700s. It also helped me learn about how much responsibility the men had while they owned a plantaion. In the reading, it talked about how people used to grow indigo and how it was used to be made into a blue die. The reading also stated how hard it was to grow the 1st successful crop of indigo and how challengeing it was to make it into a die. This helped me understand about some of the hardships Eliza Lucuas Pickney faced and all of the other farmers in the mid~1700s. After Eliza perfected growing indigo it became a cash crop in only a matter of years, which was very fast for the time period!
